To create a sales opportunity for any basic listing, this will need to be done in Endeavour.

  • Once you have opened Endeavour and logged in you will be on your homepage. From here, you will need to search for the venue using the section Find Groups or Providers and either typing in the venue name or copy and pasting the venue name into this section.

  • Once you have entered the venue name, a list of any previous subscriptions will appear or the option to click on the Provider profile for that venue.
  • This is the section that you will need to click on.

  • This page will then give you an overview of any subscriptions that the venue may have or had in the past with prices and dates of these subscrptons.  You will need to check for any active subscriptons that a venue may have, this will be shown with a green tick.

  • For all venues you will need to check that there are a sales and renewal owner; for Independents, this will be Andy and for groups, this will be Graham.
  • If the venue doesn't have either of these then this can be updated in MEC. Once you have loaded the venue page in MEC, you will need to go to the Subscriptions tab.

  •  Within this page, there will be a drop-down for each contact and you can select the correct contact from this dropdown. Always remember to save for the page once you have updated this information.

  • Whilst on the subscription tab it is always worth double-checking to ensure that the Central Payment Discount. This should always be turned off for Independent venues, however if the venue is a part of a group who pay centrally for multiple venues this can be turned on.

  • Zero Price should always be turned off too.

  • After you have done this step, you will need to return to the provider page on Endeavour. In the left-hand corner, you will see a box named Provider Actions and you will need to click onto this and select Create Opportunity

  • In Subscription Details the Payment Type will need to be amended to Perpetual Direct Debit as the default payment type, this can be selected from the drop down menu.

  • This means that the venue will pay monthly by direct debit for their subscription.  Venues can choose to later amend this to invoice if they wish to.

  • The start date for the subscripton will need to be set as a future date. The subscription end date will  autmatically show for a month's duration. When the venue receives the opportunity the start date will be hidden and will automatically update to when they confirm.

  • For Source, you can select Cold Call from the drop down menu.

  • For the Subscription Contact, you can select the existing contact who should appear on the drop down menu. If there isn't an existing subscripton contact, a contact will need to be selected within MEC,

  • For the Accounts Contact, you can select the existing contact who should appear on the drop down menu. If there isn't an existing accounts contact, a contact will need to be selected. This can be done on the venue's MEC profile.

  • Next, a Target Date will need to be set. This again will need to be a future date. You can leave the probability as this is unknown.

  • In Products, Live Availability can be removed from this section. This can be removed by clicking on the rubbish bin symbol.

Once all of the above is completed, you can click on Create Opportunity

  • The opportunity for this venue will have now been created. Once an opportunity has been created, it will have an opportunity ID.

  • The next stage is to check if any discounts have been applied to the venue. Any discounts applied will be shown here, it is always worth checking for further information the subscription tab on MEC or with a member of the sales team.

  • The next stage is to create a proposal to send to the venue. This can be done by clicking on the opportunity ID.

  • This will then open a page containing further information on the opportunity created. In the left hand corner you will see Subscription Actions and you will need to click on here and select Create Proposal.

  • Once you have selected to create a proposal, you will need to create the proposal using the draft on this section.
  • Where the proposal shows Sent By, this should always have Andy or Graham's name.  Always double check to make sure that this is correct.

  • Sent To will show the receient of the proposal. This should pre-select the subscription contact, however, if needed this can be amended using the drop-down menu.

  • The Cover Email, Header and Footer will be the text of the email that is sent along with the proposal. This can be amended from the text already in the text boxes.

  • The next section, Providers will show any information on the proposal and costs of the subscription. It is worth checking to make sure the cost in this section is correct and the same as the price shown in Endeavour.

  • Nearest Providers shows the closest venues with full subscriptions.

  • Market Values shows the values of enquiries that the venue has received. If you want to pull through the venue stats to the proposal you will need to select the tick box next to the venue name. If you don't wish to send this information leave unticked.

  • Once you are happy with the proposal you can click on Create and Send Proposal button at the bottom of the page.
