Audience: Internal (Support, CS, Product, Operations)
This article explains how client fields display across key MEP flows and why they differ.
Summary
- In Quick Enquiry (MEP), clients see only the client fields selected in the client’s Branding tab in Gratis; it does not show all configured fields.
- In Agent Confirm (GRATIS), the agent must complete any remaining required client fields that were not captured earlier before they can confirm the booking.
- In Instant Book (via MEP and via Gratis Small Meetings), clients see all required/mandatory client fields, regardless of Branding selections, because the client is confirming at this point.
- In Confirm Online (MEP > My Enquiries > Confirm Online), clients also see all required/mandatory client fields, regardless of Branding selections, for the same reason (client-side confirmation).
Why these surfaces differ
- Quick Enquiry aims for lightweight, on-brand lead capture, so it respects the subset configured under the client’s Branding tab in Gratis.
- Instant Book and Confirm Online are client-confirmed points of the journey; they must present all required fields to ensure a complete, confirmable booking.
- Agent Confirm ensures completeness if an enquiry started with a Branding-limited set by requiring the agent to fill any remaining required fields before confirmation.
Behaviour by flow
Quick Enquiry (MEP)
Shows only the client fields selected in the client’s Branding tab (Gratis), not the full set of configured client fields.
Agent Confirm (MEP)
If not all required client fields were collected earlier (due to Branding limits), MEP prompts the agent to complete the remaining required fields before they can confirm the booking.
Instant Book (MEP and Gratis Small Meetings)
Shows all required/mandatory client fields to the client, ignoring Branding selections, so all required details are captured at client confirmation time.
Confirm Online (MEP > My Enquiries > Confirm Online)
Shows all required/mandatory client fields to the client, ignoring Branding selections, as part of the client-side confirmation step.
Practical notes
- If a client’s Branding tab selects a subset of fields, Quick Enquiry will show only that subset; however, all required fields still need to be completed either by the client during Instant Book/Confirm Online or by the agent during Agent Confirm before a booking can be confirmed.
- This behavior is expected and matches what’s observed in ticket VENUED-5155 (Quick Enquiry respects Branding; Instant Book and Confirm Online show all required fields irrespective of Branding selections).
